- The Elders are responsible for the spiritual and
organizational leadership of the church. They are chosen by the
congregation to serve on the Session, the governing council of the
congregation. Together with the Pastor,
they are to strengthen and nurture the people in their faith and life, to
encourage the people in the worship and service of God, and to equip and
renew the people for their own ministries. PBPC has nine Elders who
each serve three-year terms.

- Deacons are specially called to minister to those who
are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in
distress. The Deacons are chosen by the
congregation to assist the Session, the governing council of the
congregation. Each week, a Deacon is on call as Deacon of the Week to be
especially available to people's needs that arise that week. PBPC's Deacons each serve three-year terms.
Currently our Deacons are Blain, Donna, Gwen, Gail, Paula, and Peggy
In worship, the worship leaders are the
prompters, while the people are the actors. God is the Audience of One.

PBPC's Mission
and History
During the recent transition time between called pastors,
PBPC underwent a Mission Study process. During this time the congregation
reflected on its history, its current status, and its sense of God's calling for
its ministry and mission at the corner of Park Boulevard and Hampel Street.
"Harnessing History's Horsepower" is a brief summary of PBPC's story--click HERE.
The results of the Mission Study - our definition of our Vision, Mission,
and Goals - are also available--click HERE.
