Prayer is central to what we do at Park Blvd Church. Through prayer we have honest conversation with God; we align ourselves with God's Spirit and God's purposes; in some wonderful and mysterious way, we believe God uses our prayers to further his kingdom and will on earth. Please let us know how our staff and prayer teams can help you or those you care about with our prayers! "Whenever God determines to do a great work, He first sets His people to pray." CH Spurgeon The Wednesday Prayer Group welcomes all who wish to come and pray for our members, our friends and our world. We pray for all prayer requests submitted in the offering plate at the Sunday worship services, as well as other known prayer concerns. The Wednesday Prayer Group meets year round on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 2:30 in the Pastor's office. Sunday Prayer Team Sunday mornings we worship God together. Then we talk and share our thoughts and lives in the Higher Grounds Café. And then we are moved to respond and go to God in prayer. The Sunday Prayer Team gathers at 12:15 in the Family Room each week to lift joyful praise and passionate petitions to our listening Lord. You are welcome to join us. Sponsored by the Deacons, the Prayer Chain includes some 30 individuals, Deacons and other members, who are called to support the prayer ministry of our church. On an as needed basis, it prays for urgent prayer requests submitted to the Office or the Director of Pastoral Care. As part of their weekly meeting, our staff prays for all prayer requests submitted in the offering plate at the Sunday worship services, as well as other known prayer concerns.
We continue especially praying for the family and friends of PBPC serving in the US armed forces. These include Claudio Avarte, Jon Marshal, Jim Meyers and Rick Nelson in the US Marines; Dennis Butler, Scott Lawson and Lisa Poyner in the US Air Force; and Kimberly McNeill in the US Army. Join us in praying for our troops. We pray for Burma on the Global Day of Prayer for Burma, and throughout the year. Burma (or Myanmar) is one of the worst dictatorships in the world. An estimated 1,000,000 have been displaced in the Burma-Thailand border area since 1996. The violence and terror inflicted by the dictators of Burma cause an increase in displaced people and refugees. Dave and Karen Eubanks with their two children serve as Christian Missionaries in Thailand helping with the Internally Displaced People of Burma. They work for reconciliation between the ethnic and Burma pro-democracy group and coordinated the Day of Prayer for Burma for people of all faiths. They seek "to give help, hope and love to the oppressed of Burma." Please pray
If you have a prayer request, our prayer warriors would love to pray for you. You may submit your prayer requests using the blue cards in the pew racks at all worship services. Simply place your card in the offering plate and know that your concern or praise will be lifted up during the week. Please indicate whether you would like this submitted to the Wednesday Prayer Group, the Prayer Chain, or both. |
