Easter Drama in the Park

Dimond Park became the setting for the dramatization of the first Easter morning.  First the weeping women showed us the empty tomb where Jesus was no longer.  Then we walked the road to Emmaus with the mourning disciples.  But our sorrow turned to joy as we came to understand the resurrection of Jesus!

The narrator set the historical scene, recapping the events of the past week since Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.

Suddenly, Mary and Salome came hysterically wailing and keening, "Where have they taken His body??  Do you know??!"  They took us to show us the empty tomb.

As the women wept, Jesus appeared and addressed Mary.  He  asked her, "Woman, who are you looking for?"  But Mary didn't recognize Him, and thought he was the gardener.

On the road to Emmaus, Jesus start with Moses and the prophets and  explained to Cleopas and the other disciple why the Messiah had to die.

He is risen!  He is risen, indeed!!
