What is the meaning of life?
What happens when we die?
What relevance does Jesus have for our lives?
How do we deal with guilt?
Alpha is a 10 week adventure which explores the basic precepts of Christianity, those shared by all Christians in all denominations.  This adventure is starting again September 14 and welcomes newcomers for the first three weeks.  Will you be coming along?  Will you bring a friend along?  Plan ahead for it!  For more information, click HERE.

Moms' Group

PBPC and The Glenview Moms, a.k.a. The Coffee Shop Moms, meet the first Thursday of each month throughout the year, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  Moms can join us for coffee, and bagel and opportunity to meet other moms in the neighborhood, while the little ones play.   Moms and babies drop by anytime (we know getting organized with wee ones is tough!) between 9:30 and 11:30.

Widows/Widowers Grief Recovery

This is a ten week class and support group for widows and widowers who are recently bereaved and trying to move through the grieving process.  For more information, click HERE

The Widows/Widowers Grief Recovery Classes last two hours and meet at various convenient times during the week, at local area Presbyterian churches.

Boy Scouts, Troop 271

Troop 271 of the Boy Scouts of America invites boys age 11 to 18 years old to join them on Tuesday nights, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the PBPC St. James Hall.  All are welcome!

Daniel, a Life Scout, has been a Scout for four years.  He started at age 10.  He says,

"I like scouting because it gives me something to do.  I get to do a lot of outdoor activities like fishing, camping, hiking, and swimming.  We also participate in community service.  I also get to earn badges and meet new friends.  My goal is to get Eagle Scout by 15 years old."

In the last couple years, Troop 271 Boy Scouts have

  • gone on a 10-day trip to Colorado.
  • participated in the Scouts for Food community service project.  They collected food in the Glenview District and delivered the food to a food bank.
  • gone on camping trips to Del Valle, Tilden Park, Point Reyes, and Dillon Beach, to name a few.  They usually camp out once a month.
  • gone to Scout-a-rama.
  • gone to the Field Sports Campout in Los Mochos, Livermore.

Troop 271 has been meeting at PBPC since 1923!  It started off as Troop 71, but over the years, became Troop 271.  Since 1975, this troop has produced 13 Eagle Scouts.  For more information, you may email the Scoutmaster, click HERE.
